Welcome to Destination Donatelli

Hello everyone! My name is Andy Donatelli and I am from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am currently a senior at Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, PA and I am pursuing a double major in German and International Studies. My passions for foreign languages and traveling have led me to 32 different countries. I love meeting people from all over the world and am always eager to immerse myself in a new culture.

My travels began in 2014 when I went on a Europe trip with my high school German and French class. We traveled to France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein. Now attending college, I have had a lot more opportunities to travel. During the summer after my freshman year, I conducted an individual research project in Switzerland, Belgium, and Germany, where I studied their chocolate industries. In January of 2018, I took a three week course in The Gambia and Senegal to learn about their political and social systems. Shortly after, I studied abroad at the University of Vienna in Vienna, Austria for four and a half months. During this time, I was able to travel to 13 additional countries. For the 2019 Spring Semester, I am studied at the University of Aberdeen in Aberdeen, Scotland. I truly immersed myself in the Scottish culture and nature scenes, visiting numerous Scottish cities. I also had the opportunity to travel to 9 additional countries during this semester. For the Fall 2019 Semester, I am studying at Berlin CIEE Open Campus in Berlin, Germany.

Throughout my studies and traveling, I have met some amazing people. I hope to continue to make connections with people from around the world and I am always looking for opportunities to utilize my German, Russian, and Arabic language skills!
